Post a Job, Get a Job With NIC’s CareerCentral

February 21, 2018

COURTENAY – There’s now a better way for employers to find highly qualified, eager and professional North Island College (NIC) students and graduates beginning their careers.
CareerCentral, NIC’s new free online job board makes it easier than ever for employers to hire NIC students and graduates.
“We are excited to have CareerCentral up and running,” said Anita Budisa‐Bonneau, work integrated education coordinator at NIC.
“Employers can promote jobs directly to NIC students and grads, and students get access to an ever‐growing list of job postings from Vancouver Island and beyond,” said Budisa‐Bonneau. “It’s about connecting NIC students with employment opportunities.”
CareerCentral allows employers to create, edit and re‐post permanent, temporary or seasonal job opportunities as they become available. Employers can also advertise positions specifically for students seeking co‐op or internship opportunities on separate job boards within CareerCentral.
Students simply login to CareerCentral using their NIC number and password, then nrowse available jobs, view career‐related events, access employment resources and update their profile information.
The service also allows students to book one‐on‐one appointments with NIC’s Employment Services advisors, get help with resumés and cover letters, practice for job interviews, learn how to network and more.
In addition, Student Employment Services offers workshops, opportunities like the Disney International Internship Program and access to other employment‐related resources.
CareerCentral can be accessed online. Once on the website, employers can register and create an account in a few simple steps at no cost.
The new service – which launched Jan. 31 – arrives just ahead of NIC’s 8th Annual Career Fair on March 22.
Organizations wanting to take part in the Career Fair can register with Student Employment Services.
For more information, visit the website or attend the Career Fair for a live demonstration on how to use CareerCentral.
