KELOWNA – The Regional District of Central Okanagan’s Economic Development Commission (COEDC) wants to make sure newcomers, spouses and partners of newly located professionals and recent graduates starting their careers in the Central Okanagan know the right people.

The COEDC Connector Program, launched June 20th, is a formalized community integration program that connects newcomers and recent graduates with highly networked individuals so they can connect to our workforce and settle successfully in the community.

Created by the Halifax Partnership, The Connector Program is an award winning best practices program and one way the COEDC seeks to enhance the sharing of Central Okanagan labour market opportunities between employers and job seekers. The simple but effective program pairs the newcomer, student or recent graduate (Connectee) with well-networked local professionals (Connectors) for one-on-one informational meetings.

The COEDC Connector Program is one response to local industry feedback identifying an opportunity to support spouses or partners of newly relocated professionals in connected to the local professional community.
